Behavioural Advice
Behavioural issues can be a challenging time for both pet and owner and there can be many reasons for why a pet changes or develops behavioural issues, but the team at Brookend vets can help guide you.
Whether it’s caused by a medical condition such as age related conditions, illnesses or pain or even from environmental changes such as moving home or introducing a new pet into the family. Our experienced team can provide expert advice.
Several of our nurses have a keen interest in pet behaviour and can provide useful training tips for your new puppy or kitten and offer practical advice on a wide range of topics such as toilet training, crate training, socialisation and basic commands.
Training promotes good habits and helps to give your pet confidence and mental enrichment and by reinforcing them with positive training techniques it can help to set your pet up for success.
The nurses can also help with mild separation anxiety issues and behaviours associated from noise phobias such as fireworks.
As much as we would like to help every pet struggling with behavioural issues, sometimes we do have to refer to a registered animal behaviourist for when the issues are more complicated and require a more specialist approach, but we can assist you with a referral.
We try to ensure that your pet enjoys coming to Brookend and feels relaxed and has a positive experience. The team encourages confidence with a calm and relaxed approach and lots of positive praise and not to mention a treat or two!
