Dentistry

Taking care of your pet's teeth is very important for their overall health. Just as we brush our teeth each day and get regular dental check ups, so should your pet. Dental issues are one of the most common health issues we see in pets and can cause smelly breath, pain, infection and the bacteria build up can even affect your pets' other organs. Plaque and tartar can  build up and cause gum disease (gingivitis) and painful tooth  root abscesses.

Having regular dental check ups and daily tooth brushing can help prevent this, however, we understand that brushing can be challenging and is not always possible so we can also advise on diets and chews which will help maintain dental health. The nurses can help demonstrate the best techniques for brushing and advise on the best preventative healthcare specifically for  your pet.

Sometimes, professional cleaning is needed which requires a general anaesthetic. We use specialised ultrasonic dental equipment to descale and polish the teeth and perform a comprehensive oral examination. Extractions are sometimes required to remove weak or damaged teeth.

Book a dental check up today and give your pet something to smile about!
