Microchipping

Microchipping is a simple, safe and effective way to permanently identify your pet giving them the best possible chances of being reunited should they ever go missing.

Did you know?

Microchipping for both cats and dogs is now a legal requirement.

What is a microchip?

A microchip is a small device about the size of a grain of rice and contains a unique 15 digit code. This code is linked to your contact details that are securely stored in a central database.

Authorised professionals such as veterinary practices and animal wardens can quickly access these details to help reunite you with your pet.

The Procedure

The microchip is implanted under the skin typically between your pet's shoulder blades and is located by using a microchip scanner. It is similar to having an injection and most pets do not even feel it being implanted. It can even be done during a routine appointment by one of our trained vets or nurses.
